Personal and Professional Practice 2

Creating a Digital Imprint

The aim of this module is to develop the professionalism of my practice and myself. Exposing the diversity of artists professional practice enabling me to present, distribute and promote my work within the art world and other markets. To be able to do this I intend to research and identify the appropriate markets for my work, selecting and exploring both historical and contemporary issues relevant to my work.
With the aid of lens based media and IT workshops I will create a platform to present my work; the main platform being Wordpress. Wordpress will allow me to create an online portfolio that is instantly accessible by anyone and easily edited in terms of content and design. Alongside this online portfolio I intend the use of printed media, in the form of business cards and postcards depicting my works.

Currently I have a site on Blogger; yecatswolliw.blogspot.com and a Facebook page; facebook.com/ArtByWillowEveChapmanStacey, I constantly update these sites with new pieces of work. I also use the social media sites; Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr to post works in progress, ideas and finished pieces, these act as more of a thinking journal than a way to present finished pieces of work. I find the use of social media intriguing, just seconds after posting an image you receive feedback- in the form of likes, retweets and favourites. It gives a sense of worth that your work in being accessed and people do appreciate it.
